Swiss-Prot curators have reviewed 20,431 human proteins. For some of them they recorded no observation of the protein itself, no function, or not one Gene Ontology term. These three gaps are counted separately below.

“Not recorded” is a fact about UniProt, not about the protein. A missing FUNCTION comment means a curator wrote none; it does not mean the protein has no function, and it does not mean nobody has studied it.

No drug column. Unseen is keyed by UniProt accession, and 205 of its rows carry no HGNC id until an accession sweep maps them; the page is also served from its own origin, which cannot load the drug index. Drug evidence by gene is in the Drug Evidence Explorer.

Refs counts the papers UniProt cites for the entry, which is a curated selection and much smaller than a PubMed search would return.
